God has found yet another way for me to combine my creative passion and love for animals-professional dog grooming! You heard it-I am now professionally grooming and styling dogs-I'm even in school to get certified!
Life is amazing, isn't it? I really love this job and I can't wait to start taking pictures for you guys. This is a skilled trade that is limited only by your charm and imagination, and I have both in plenty! Keep an eye out for some new, four legged friends popping in to say hello with their new fancy do's!
As always, thanks for the support and thanks for stopping by!

Hang in there, friends, for if life is a journey, so is art! I have made my way back to Maryland thanks to the grace of my family and have found a new job working with dogs. I will miss the horses but I really do need to move on here-I'm thinking vet school is in my future.
For now I am caring for people's doggies at a resort where we are paid to snuggle and bathe your best friends whilst you vacation. Sweet deal, right? The camera is still on hiatus, though I have been writing more recently. I'm optimistic to see what the future holds for me-as I become more faithful in the world, the next steps just seem to appear before me. I know I will never lose my artistic sight and creative flair as I bring it into everything I do so I'm definitely excited to see what's next for me!
(Here I am, snuggling with new friends in Maryland-dogs are just GREAT! Woof.)

It seems like time has just flown by! Working with Jane is such an exhilarating, all-consuming drive of passion, dedication and love of the sport. Through literally blood, sweat and tears I've gotten to here; Aiken, SC. I am actually riding alongside of people I had been hoping to someday meet. It's incredible. I wish I had more time to goof off with my camera, but even at the schooling sessions I accompany Jane to, it's all studying and learning.
Such an amazing experience, I am so blessed to be out here. It is just beautiful, I'd love to come out here again on my own terms and try to capture the amazing atmosphere down here-it's unreal. Everyone lives, eats and breathes horses in this environment. There isn't a second of time that you get away with losing your focus. Everything reminds you why you are here. There really aren't words but this experience has been above and beyond everything I expected it to be.
I don't know what the next chapter is, so hang in there, internet friends! I'm going places! Heels down, eyes up!

For the next year or so, I'm taking an internship with Jane Sleeper, a well-known equestrian in Coatesville, PA. Jane has a huge array of experience all over the world, having competed in England, Ireland, France, Hawaii, Holland, Mexico, Australia, Canada and the United States! She also participated in the 1988 Olympic Three Day and 1991 Pan American Team Three Day Championships. She takes a lot of pride in her students and loves to help them reach their own goals. It's a real honor to get to work with her, she's a sweetheart with a head brimming with horsey knowledge, and I can't wait to get started. I'm sure they'll be lots of great photo ops mixed in there with all of that hard work!

This summer, I was lucky enough to go to Spain for a little over a month. I took a ton of pictures, especially at the royal school of riding in Jerez de la Fronterra. The Andalusian horses they breed there are absolutely breathtaking, and a real joy to photograph. These horses work hard, and love it. They are very dedicated to their riders and trainers, and are very well taken care of. The show itself did not allow photography, but the pictures from the training yard are more than enough to demonstrate the incredible beauty and refined grace of these horses.
